Padma Bridge Project on Hold

National (Gctnews24.blogspot.com) — The World Bank has provisionally balanced its funding for the Padma bridge project following charges of corruption.


Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith informed journalists of the WB move on Monday, saying, "The government will investigate into the allegations of corruption."

The World Bank has promised $1.2-billion finance for the country's longest river viaduct over the Padma river.
